About Surfineurope was started during the winter 2003/2004 with the long term goal of becoming the number one site about surfing in Europe. Our strategy is to offer something more than just another standard portal with short news and links to other pages. We create most of our material ourselves and produce complete magazines that can be downloaded for free from our homepage. In the beginning surfineurope was all about kitesurfing, but has come to include both traditional surfing and windsurfing. Apart from magazines and news we publish our own weather reports. Any user can send their own reports to surfineurope using a standard camera mobile with MMS. The latest addition to surfineurope is BoardCAD, a complete CAD-system for the design of surfboards. Also here you as a user can help out. BoardCAD is released as open source so you can simply download the source code and add any functionality that you are missing. We hope that you appreciate and want to help us in our effort to construct a somewhat different and more feature rich website about surfing in Europe!

Magazines Due to lack of time we have not been able to produce any new magazines during 2006, but we hope to take up the production again under 2007. Weather reports In order for the weather pages to be interesting it is important that as many as possible send in weather reports from their sessions. If you have a camera mobile it is easy to send in a report to surfineurope as an MMS. You can find more information on how to do this in the forum. BoardCAD BoardCAD is released as open source under GNU General Public License, which in short means that you are free to download the and make changes to the code. The only thing we demand is that eventual changes done to the program are kept as open source. Ola Helenius: Windsurfin veteran who through the combination of many years in the waves and a PhD exame in mathematics have gained a deep knowledge in board desing. When he is not chasing waves outside the Swedish coast he works at the university or helps people to find the right board on various windsurfing forums.
